Outcome-Based Education

Sarhad Law School follows an outcome-based education framework. The Programme Outcomes, Programme Specific Outcomes and Course Outcomes stated below are communicated to students and teachers, and their attainment is periodically reviewed by the IQAC.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

What every graduate of the programme is expected to know and be able to do.

  • PO1Legal Knowledge — Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of substantive and procedural law, legal principles and the Constitution of India.
  • PO2Legal Reasoning & Critical Thinking — Analyse legal problems, interpret statutes and precedents, and apply sound legal reasoning to real-world situations.
  • PO3Legal Research — Conduct systematic legal research using print and digital databases and present findings with accurate citation.
  • PO4Communication & Advocacy — Communicate effectively in written and oral form through drafting, pleading, client counselling and courtroom advocacy.
  • PO5Professional Ethics — Uphold the integrity, ethical standards and professional responsibility expected of members of the legal profession.
  • PO6Social Justice & Constitutional Values — Appreciate the role of law in advancing social justice, equality and constitutional morality.

  • PSO1Apply knowledge of core legal disciplines — constitutional, criminal, civil, corporate and procedural law — to professional legal practice.
  • PSO2Demonstrate practical lawyering skills through moot courts, internships, clinical legal education and court visits.
  • PSO3Engage with the community through legal aid, awareness camps and pro bono service, contributing to access to justice.
