A Day to Remember: Induction Program and Garba Celebration at Sarhad Law School

The vibrant spirit of Sarhad Law School came alive on the 19th of October, 2024, as students, faculty, and staff gathered together to celebrate the Induction Program and Garba Day, a day that was not just about dance and celebration, but also about unity, growth, and heartfelt connections.
The event was meticulously organized by Sarhad Law School, with the primary aim of warmly welcoming the first-year students into the Sarhad family. The seniors took the lead in planning and executing every aspect of the event, making sure the juniors felt both celebrated and included. Their efforts reflected a beautiful tradition and mentorship that Sarhad proudly upholds.
A Grand Beginning: The Induction Program
The program began at 11:00 a.m. with an air of excitement and anticipation. The venue was beautifully decorated, echoing the cultural richness and vibrancy of the occasion. The hosts for the day, Ajit Pawar and Shrishti Katwe, did a wonderful job of engaging the audience with their charm and enthusiasm. Their seamless coordination and cheerfulness kept the energy levels high throughout the day.
The inaugural part of the program involved the introduction of the first-year students and faculty members, which served as a vital step in building a strong foundation of familiarity and connection. Asst. Prof. Kaushal Bagul, with his warm and charismatic presence, introduced the senior students one by one, sharing anecdotes and qualities that made each one unique.
Their introductions were not just formal presentations but heartfelt moments that highlighted the journey, growth, and aspirations of each student.
In addition to the students, we had the honour of being in the presence of some of the most respected and beloved faculty members at Sarhad Law School. Assistant Professors Sampada Kulkarni, Kaushal Bagul, Utkarsha Dhumal and Swati Dimber played an active role throughout the event, offering support, encouragement, and guidance to both the juniors and seniors. Their dedication to the holistic development of students was evident in their interactions, and their warmth left a lasting impression.
Words that Inspire
One of the most touching moments of the event was the address by our Principal, S. R. Khaladkar Madam. A guiding light for the institution, Madam Khaladkar is deeply respected and loved by all. Her dream is not only to shape her students academically but to also develop them emotionally to create lawyers who are empathetic, compassionate, and grounded. She spoke with deep emotion about the importance of building emotional bonds in education, and how Sarhad’s mission has always been to nurture not just minds, but hearts. Her words stirred the audience, and her love for every student was felt profoundly.
Our seniors then took the stage to share their own experiences of life at Sarhad stories from visits to the District Court, participation in a noteworthy legal event in Mumbai, and an unforgettable trekking trip that bonded them beyond the classroom. These stories gave the juniors a glimpse into the opportunities and growth that awaited them, instilling both excitement and inspiration.
A Joyful Break and Cultural Explosion
At 12:00 p.m. a refreshment break was held, where students mingled and bonded over food and laughter. The joyful chatter, group selfies, and candid moments added to the growing sense of family among everyone present.
By 1:20 p.m. the venue was transformed into a colourful celebration zone as Garba Day officially began. Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, students danced their hearts out to the beats of folk music. The atmosphere was electric—full of swirling ghagras, clicking in rhythm, and heartfelt laughter. It was not just a dance, it was a celebration of culture, tradition, and unity.
Honouring Talent and Elegance
The Garba performances were spectacular, and the energy was contagious. To recognize the effort and enthusiasm of the students, prizes were awarded in several categories:
● Best Dressed Female: Sayali Ghogare and Ravina Gaikwad
● Best Dressed Male: Kanhaiya Sable
● Best Dancer (Female): Siddhi Shendkar
● Best Dancer (Male): Gaurav Shipalkar
Their grace, style, and spirit truly stood out and added extra sparkle to the event.
A Day Etched in Our Hearts
As the clock struck 3:00 PM, the program officially came to an end, but the memories created will stay with us for a lifetime. The Induction Program and Garba Day at Sarhad Law School was not just a ceremonial welcome; it was a celebration of values, of togetherness, and of the vibrant journey that lies ahead.
It reminded us all that Sarhad is not just an educational institution, it is a family, built on the foundation of love, support, and shared dreams. Under the nurturing guidance of our Principal, respected professors, and the ever-energetic seniors, the juniors now begin their journey with confidence, warmth, and the knowledge that they belong.
